Impel
Polish champions were unbeatable for 13 rounds, but streak lasted until they bumped into fourth-placed Impel (achieved 9th consecutive triumph) and their, nearly, 3,000 fans.
The game could go in opposite direction, especially when Chemik destroyed Impel in the fourth set.
Fierce battle was seen on the court in tie-break. The hosts took 5-3, but Chemik leveled at 5-5. Impel took initiative again having 13-11 which should bring them calmer finish. Stil, Chemik returned at 13-13, but lost two points in a row with Anna Werblińska suffering back injury in the last point.
Italian Carolina Costagrande topped Impel’s scorers with 15 points while Colombian Madelaynne Montaño and Czech Helena Havelková collected 18 each on the other side.
