POL M: Zaksa secure playoff finals, Skra on right track to join them

Zaksa

Jastrzębski’s coach Mark Lebedew could not count on main engine of his team, the Slovakian setter Michal Masný (replaced by a player from youth team Radosław Gil) which made Zaksa’s job much easier. Zaksa were also weakened since Rafał Buszek was not ready to play in this match.

Dawid Konarski and Ukrainian Yurii Gladyr had 11 points each in winning team who ended the two-game losing streak, while Canadian Jason DeRocco had 10 in Jastrzębski.

In an intense encounter, Cuprum Lubin was not able to cause another upset after recently beating Resovia and Trefl. PGE Skra Bełchatów were better 3-1 (25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 25-21) and retained second place in the standings which might take them to playoff finals.

The Argentine Facundo Conte had 19 in Skra while Łukasz Kaczmarek collected 14 in Lubin.
