POL M: Former Poland NT coach – „I’m not in favor of frequent changing coaches“

Mazur

“Objectives for the Polish National Team in the Olympic year were set very clearly: firstly, promotion to the Games and then, getting a medal there. The promotion has been accomplished throughout very difficult process of qualification, which is a plus. The main objective in Rio, however, was not accomplished so it casts very strong shadow on actions of the coaching staff,” Mazur said.

This year was one of the most unsuccessful years of the Polish Men’s NT recently, but Mazur thinks that national team does not need to suffer a revolution.

“Recently, every our national team coach was sacked in his second year on the job. Personally, I am not in favor of frequent changes but of allowing coaches to last at least four years. The last coach who nearly had that opportunity was Raúl Lozano (2005-2008),” he added.
