Radom vs. Trefl
The hosts turned out to be a better side after four sets and made a surprise by taking three points 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 30-28, 32-30).
As website of the Polish Men’s Volleyball Championship wrote, Trefl coach Andrea Anastasi said before the match that he was feeling perfectly but will see in what mood he’s going to be after the match. And it seems he accurately predicted the outcome. Obviously, the reconstructed squad coached by Italian expert still did not reach the form worth of title aspirations.
Bartłomiej Bołądź topped Radom with 28 points while Damian Schulz had 29 in Trefl.
Polish runners-up Resovia Rzeszów had an easy task against Łuczniczka Bydgoszcz on road 3-0. Canadian Gavin Schmitt returned to the court after three months of rehabilitation following leg injury and already was the best scorer of his team – 14 points. Schmitt was second returnee to Resovia squad after injury in only one week. German Jochen Schöps ended one-year break, seven days ago.
