Resovia-Kielce
Despite remaining without six starters from the last season (seven players in total), one of the title contenders Resovia superiorly set off their 2017/18 PlusLiga campaign as they outclassed Kielce in straight sets, partially 25-20, 25-16, 25-22.
Aleksander Śliwka, a newcomer from Indykpol AZS Olsztyn, topped Resovia with 17 points and earned MVP of the match award. Jakub Wachnik scored 18 points and was the only player with double digits in Kielce, who also had to replace seven players during the summer.
In other two Round 1 games today, Olsztyn beat Espadon Szczecin 3-1 thanks to 21 points from the Czech international Jan Hadrava, while GKS Katowice defeated Cerrad Czarni Radom 3-1 as well, with 12 points from the Argentine Gonzalo Quiroga.
