The Polish champions opened the first set by taking 7-5 and 9-7 lead. As of this moment, Sliwka and Jarosz started pushing the home side, creating a comeback. However, this set had to be extended after seeing two sides fighting for every ball. The 42-minute set was finished by Jakub Jarosz, who gave fans a huge hope 35-33.
Even though Zaksa lost the first set, they didn’t want to surrender. They stepped on the court, raising the level of play and smashing the opponent to tie the score in sets 25-18 (1-1).
The last two sets were also very uncertain, however, the reigning champions showed once again that they will be the main contender for the championship title this season.
Sam Deroo was the top scorer in Zaksa with 23, while Maurice Torres had 18. In home team, Alexander Sliwka scored 23.
