ŁKS Łódź, who returned to the Polish top division after 23 years, last season, are definitely determined to regain the old glory (one-time national champions and a three-time national Cup winners). They reached a 3-0 record in the 2017/18 OrlenLiga after beating ENEA PTPS Piła in straight sets, partially 25-23, 25-20, 25-19. Katarzyna Sielicka topped ŁKS Łódź with 13 points.
A two-time Polish Cup and Super Cup winners, and former CEV Champions League participants, MKS Dąbrowa Górnicza, kept sinking deeper and deeper this season. After losing to KS Pałac Bydgoszcz in four sets, Dąbrowa Górnicza joined the trio at the bottom of the rankings who are still winless.
Another Polish Women’s Volleyball powerhouse struggles this season. Three-time OrlenLiga medalists Impel Wrocław suffered a 3-1 defeat to Legionovia Legionowo at home and now have a 1-2 record.
