After scoring 17 wins in a row in PlusLiga from the start of the season, Zaksa lost to Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, last weekend. Still, it will not change the course for the title of the two-time defending champions.

“Of course, I’m surprised. We did not focus on breaking records but only on the next, nearest match. I am very happy that despite the problems that we have faced this season, we were able to get out of them unscathed. We had a lot of injuries, we missed some players for several games. We have reacted to it very well and it pleases me,” Zaksa coach Andrea Gardini summed up the period when his club made 17 wins in a row.

The Italian expert admitted that his goal is to return to coach a club in his home country.

“It’s probably normal. I am from Italy, my family lives there, so it is obvious that my goal should be to return to my native country. I want to come back to a great club that gives great opportunities. I stress that I feel great here and together we can achieve something big. Probably, one day, I will decide to return to Italy,” Gardini said.
