No.5 Olsztyn scored a second win in a row against the fourth-seed Resovia in the series of quarterfinals to eliminate the powerhouse from the playoffs with a 2-1. Game 3 ended by a 3-1 (25-22, 18-25, 28-26, 28-26).
The Czech Jan Hadrava was unstoppable for the winning side, notching 28 points (2 aces, 6 kill blocks). Aleksander Śliwka scored 20 points for Resovia.
In the best-of-three semifinals, Olsztyn will face the top-seed Zaksa Kędzierzyn-Koźle.
In an intense Game 3 of the other quarterfinals, No.3 Trefl Gdańsk prevailed against No.6 Jastrzębski Węgiel in the tie-break, partially 25-17, 21-25, 18-25, 26-24, 16-14 to progress to the semis, in which they will face the second-seed PGE Skra Bełchatów.
