The two-time CEV Men’s Volleyball Challenge Cup winners Fakel have completed composing the roster for the next season by signing a son of one of the world’s best opposite hitters in the 21st century.

The 22-year-old opposite hitter Dimitriy Yakovlev occupied the last vacant spot in the 2020/21 roster of Russia’s Fakel. He’s a son of a renowned Russian volleyball player Roman Yakovlev (one-time FIVB World League and two-time FIVB World Cup winner), who’s now the assistant coach in Fakel.

Dmitriy is on a good way of building his own successful career given that he was named Best Opposite Hitter of the 2015 FIVB U19 World Championship. He came to the Novy Urengoy team from Dinamo-LO.
