In a thrilling third match of the Russian PARI Super League semifinal series, St. Petersburg’s Leningradka defeated Kaliningrad’s Lokomotiv with a clean 3-0 sweep (25:23, 26:24, 25:20), leading 2-1 in series.
The match opened with both teams showcasing strong defense and aggressive attacks, but Leningradka’s solid blocking, led by Daria Malygina, gave them the edge. Despite Lokomotiv’s fierce counterattacks from star opposite Ebrar Karakurt, the home team maintained control.
The second set was a nail-biter. After a strong start by Leningradka, Lokomotiv clawed back to tie it at 20–20. But Anna Melnikova’s clutch ace and smart plays helped the home side seal the set 26–24.
In the third set, Anastasiya Chernova and Valeriya Romanova stepped up, punishing Lokomotiv’s errors and pushing Leningradka to a dominant finish. Romanova scored 14 points, while Anastasiya Harelik led scorers with 19.
Lokomotiv’s Karakurt was the match top scorer with 24 points, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Leningradka of St. Petersburg.
