Japan (2-1) clinched an important victory in three sets against Dominican Republic while establishing their game from start to finish. Russia’s big cannons Ekaterina Gamova and Nataliya Goncharova have been both powerful and accurate. The Russians held a 22-9 lead in their lifetime meetings but only a 6-4 margin for the past 10 matches following an amazing 15-game winning streak.
