Zenit took an easy victory away against Dinamo Krasnodar 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-21) who didn’t have a chance due to excellent performance of Zenit’s duo Wilfredo León (17 pts.) – Maksim Mikhailov (16). Oleg Tsentalovich had 10 in Krasnodar.
The closest followers of Zenit in the standings, Dinamo Moscow, also achieved a straight-set win. They downed last-placed Nizhniy Novgorod, partially 25-22, 25-19, 25-19.
In a derby of Round 9, Gazprom-Yugra Surgut prevailed home team of Fakel Novy Urengoy after two-hour battle that ended in the tie-break – 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 15-25, 25-22, 15-10). The best scorer of the first part of the season, Konstantin Bakun, was on a high level again collecting 27 points in the winning team. Egor Kliuka had 19 in Fakel.
Belogorie Belgorod broke a tough resistance of Kuzbass Kemerovo only after four sets, with partial 23-25, 25-16, 25-12, 30-28.
