The team from the Russian capital and newly promoted CEV Cup finalists made a HUGE step back in its battle for the championship title. Fakel Novy Urengoy presented were inhospitable and caused upset to favorites 3-2 (25-21, 16-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-11).
Thus, seven rounds until the end of regular stage and entire championship (officially no playoffs), Dinamo have 11 points less than first placed Zenit Kazan. To be even worse for Oleg Antonov’s side, Belogorie Belgorod leveled with them in the standings since they downed Nizhniy Novgorod on road (3-0).
Egor Kliuka was unsolvable enigma to Dinamo’s players as he scored 21 points and annulled even better performance of Yuriy Berezhko on the other side (26 points). Ivan Zaytsev missed out almost entire match. He was only playing in the first set. He also didn’t finish the match of the CEV Cup quarterfinals against Italian Sir Safety Perugia.
