Belogorie
In the 21st round, reigning champions of Russia superbly cruised past hosts Fakel Noviy Urengoy, one of the teams who made their path towards title easier by downing Dinamo Moscow, two rounds ago.
It was a straight-set win for Zenit, partially 25-22, 25-21, 25-18. American Matt Anderson scored 19 points for Kazan team while Igor Tyurin had 11 for Fakel.
Dinamo Moscow reduced their chances to win title after taking only two points on road against Gazprom-Yugra Surgut Region 3-2 (20-25, 20-25, 28-26, 25-22, 15-8).
After this, they are not even second in the standings since Belogorie Belgorod scored a three-pointer against Lokomotov Novosibirsk. If Zenit claim win in the next round, Dinamo will officially say goodbye to their title dreams.
As for Belogorie, Sebian Marko Ivović topped their scorers with 18 points. Denis Zemchenok had 13 in Lokomotiv.
