WADA has announced that according to the latest investigation led by Canadian professor Richard McLaren, there are evidence that more than 1,000 Russian athletes were involved in a doping affair between 2011 and 2015.

And many of them won the medal at the London Olympics 2012!

Russia won 24 gold, 26 silver and 32 bronze medals in London, while no Russian athlete failed a drugs test at the time of the Games.

However, McLaren has found evidence that positive samples from 78 athletes, including 15 medalists, simply disappeared. Ten of those medal-winners have been caught in the IOC’s retesting of London samples this year, but five remain unpunished.

And, in the latest McLaren’s report it is said that some volleyball players were also involved in this whole doping affair.

Still, it was not disclosed if any Russian volleyball player which participated at the London Olympics 2012 was involved. Recall that Russia men’s national team won the gold medal at London 2012 after making a big comeback against Brazil in the final match.

And these latest events made Brazilian star Bruno Rezende to ask the FIVB – “And now what?

FIVB announced that it will investigate the whole case in cooperation with WADA.
