Belogorie Belgorod – Lokomotiv Novosibirsk
In the opening match of the Day 3, Zenit Kazan played a fantastic match against Lokomotiv Novosibirsk and scored a straight-sets win. The reigning Cup champions have therefore secured the 1st place in Group A, while Lokomotiv Novosibirsk stayed behind at the 2nd position. Both teams have secured their spots in the semifinals.
The things were much more exciting in Group B, where Belogorie Belgorod claimed the 1st place, while Dinamo Moscow and the hosts of the tournament Gazprom-Yugra were playing for the 2nd spot. The Moscow giant achieved a straight-sets win and advanced to the semis.
Therefore we will have kind of a remake of the last-year tournament, when the same teams faced each other in the semis. Back then, Belogorie defeated Lokomotiv, while Zenit Kazan prevailed in that epic match against Dinamo…
We are about to see if the things will be different this year.
The semifinal games are scheduled for Friday.
