Vladimir Alekno is not afraid that the new volleyball club from Saint Petersburg might dethrone his Zenit Kazan. Moreover, the famous Russian head coach said that building another strong volleyball team can only be good for the country.
“In terms of volleyball this is very good for Russia. This will be a strong team and the city of Saint Petersburg deserves it. The company (Gazprom) wants to have a team in its home town, so this is a normal decision. How will that affect Zenit Kazan? It is difficult for me to comment about that at this moment,” said Zenit Kazan head coach Vladimir Alekno for R-Sport.
