SACC W: Gerdau Minas Triumphs at South American Women’s Club Championship

In a thrilling final match at the Paulo Skaf Arena in Bauru, Gerdau Minas secured the South American Women’s Club Championship title, defeating Dentil Praia Clube with a score of 3-2 (26-24, 25-16, 19-25, 22-25, 15-11). This victory marks Gerdau Minas’s fifth championship title against the defending champions, Dentil Praia. Both teams have been consistent finalists in the continent’s most prestigious club tournament since 2019. Gerdau Thaísa Menzes from Gerdau Minas emerged as the top scorer of the match with 20 points, followed by Kasiely Clemente from Dentil Praia with 15 points.

Earlier in the day, Sesi Vôlei Bauru defeated Regatas Lima from Peru with a score of 3-1 (25-21, 25-15, 21-25, 25-21), claiming the bronze medal in the championship.

The final standings of the championship are as follows: 1st place Gerdau Minas (BRA), 2nd place Dentil Praia (BRA), 3rd place Sesi Bauru (BRA), 4th place Regatas Lima (PER), followed by Atl. Barbato (URU) and San Martín (BOL) in the 5th and 6th places respectively.
