With this win, Chile maintained their chances to qualify for the World Champs in Italy and Bulgaria, annulling the defeat which they suffered to the Qualification Tournament hosts Argentina in Round 1. Chile now must wait for the result of Argentina vs. Venezuela, who face on the third and last day (22:00 CET). Argentina need to make any win to qualify but will do so even if they lose in five sets.

Vicente Parraguirre scored 15 points for Chile, while Jhonlenn Barreto had 8 for Venezuela.

Only the winners of the South American Qualifiers, in which the three best-ranked teams from the 2017 South American Championship (with the exception of the winners Brazil, who secured automatic qualification by winning the title) participate, will advance to the World Championship.
