TUR W: Vakifbank, Eczacibasi & Fenerbahce victorious, first win for Turkish Airlines

Vakifbank, Eczacibasi and Fenerbahce have scored the victories in the second round of the Turkish women's volleyball league!



The reigning champions Vakifbank have defeated Besiktas easily in straight sets 25-18, 25-11, 25-18. Lonneke Sloetjes (11 points) and Zehra Gunes (10) were the best players of the game. Zhu Ting has played this time, scoring 8 points.

Tijana Boskovic (13 points) and Kim Yeon Koung (12 points) pushed Eczacibasi to the victory over Halkbank. Meliha Ismailoglu also had a good game in a jersey of the home team, finishing the game with 11 points.

The Yellow Angels have dropped one set against Kameroglu! Melissa Vargas had a good game, scoring 23 points, while her teammates Samantha Bricio added 15 and Eda Erdem 12. In the home team, Simone Lee and Andrea Drews scored 18 points each.

There is one surprise of the round. It’s Karayollari’s 3-1 win over Galatasaray. Marina Tumas led her team with 20 points, while Meryem Boz had 24 on the other side.

Turkish Airlines have also scored the first victory so far this season. They downed Nilufer in straight sets, thanks to Seyma Arcan and Aneta Havlickova who scored 15 points each.

Turkish Airlines – Nilufer 3-0 (26-24, 25-13, 25-18)

Ankara – Galatasaray 3-1 (15-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-22)

Besiktas – Vakifbank 0-3 (18-25, 11-25, 18-25)

Beylikduzu – Fenerbahce 1-3 (32-34, 18-25, 25-21, 16-25)

Canakkale – Aydin 0-3 (15-25, 19-25, 26-28)

Eczacibasi – Halkbank 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-17)
