Fenerbahçe Opet prevented VakıfBank from defending the national Cup trophy by beating them in a marathon semifinal encounter at the well-packed Atatürk-Vestel Venus hall in the city of İzmir by a 3-2 (17-25, 25-21, 25-21, 29-31, 15-13). They beat Galatasaray HDI Sigorta thanks to 27 points (four kill blocks) from the Serbian opposite Tijana Bošković and 80% positive reception from the libero Simge Şebnem Aköz. Hande Baladın collected 25 points (three aces) for Galata.
