By beating the odds, Türk Hava Yolları caused a defeat to major title favorites Fenerbahçe Opet in Game 2 of the 2018/19 Turkish Women’s Volleyball League playoff quarterfinals.

The sixth seed Türk Hava Yolları (Turkish Airlines) made a path of No.3 Fenerbahçe towards 2018-2019 Vestel Venus Sultanlar Ligi playoff semifinals much more difficult. THY stunned “Fener” on the road by a 3-2 (17-25, 25-18, 16-25, 25-20, 15-13) to tie the series at 1-1. The “Yellow Angels” will have to seek their way through to the semifinals in Game 3. The Azerbaijani opposite hitter Polina Rahimova blew Fenerbahçe away with 32 points, including five aces. Cuban Melissa Vargas top-scored for the losing side with 25 points.

VakıfBank closed the series against Nilüfer Belediye with a straight-set victory in Game 2 while Eczacıbaşı VitrA easily took a 1-0 lead in the series against Kameroğlu Beylıkduzu Voleybol Ihtisas.
