By defeating the top seed Eczacıbaşı on the road in Game 3 of the 2018-2019 Vestel Venus Sultanlar Ligi playoff finals in four sets, partially 25-17, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18, the No.2 seed VakıfBank took a 2-1 lead in the series. The fourth match in which VakıfBank might secure a title defense will also be played on Eczacıbaşı’s home ground, TVF Burhan Felek Hall (May 2). Recall that Eczacıbaşı had a 1-0 in the series.
Chinese outside hitter Zhu Ting top-scored for VakıfBank with 23 points while Serbian Milena Rašić set up four kill blocks. Her compatriot Tijana Bošković poured in 18 points for Eczacıbaşı.
