VakıfBank and Eczacıbaşı VitrA continued the race in two for the top spot in the 2019/20 Turkish Women’s Volleyball Championship regular season.

VakıfBank and Eczacıbaşı recorded straight-set victories in Round 19 of the 2019/20 Vestel Venus Sultanlar Ligi regular season and officially became the only two contenders for the top spot before the playoffs.

Both sides extended their brutal winning streaks. VakıfBank’s is a bit more impressive and consists of 14 success in a row including all competitions, but also 14 in a row in the championship. Eczacibasi wrote down 12 consecutive wins overall, 8 consecutive wins in the league.

VakıfBank are the leaders in the charts with 54 points, while the „Tigers“ are 3 points behind them. Only three rounds remained until the and of the regular season.

Sonja Newcombe’s transfer to Eczacibasi was hopeless. She is very ineffective in attack. In the match against PTT Spor didn’t finish 6 balls in attack. For 2 sets she didn’t score any points.
