TUR M: Huge upset – Sorgun inflict first defeat to Halkbank in season, COVID-19 postpones 2 games

Sorgun did what no team managed to achieve in five rounds since the beginning of the 2020/21 AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi regular season.

The club from Yozgat inflicted a first defeat to Halkbank, interrupting the rival’s five-game run: 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-23, 25-18). Furthermore, Sorgan recorded their first success in the ongoing season and now have 1-3.

Serbian Danilo Pavlović top-scored the winning side with 21 points. Murat Palavar made 4 blocks. Cuban Fernando Hernández tallied 22 points for Halkbank, while Austrian Alexander Berger made 73 % reception (38 % perfect).

Due to the appearance of the COVID-19 within Haliliye Bld. and Tokat Belediye Plevne, their matches against Bursa B.Şehir Bld. and Spor Toto have been postponed.
