Halkbank press
Club President Selahattin Suleymanoglu opened the press conference by expressing his gratitude to the general management of Halkbank and especially to General Director Hasan Cebeci for their continuous support to the Volleyball division.
Radostin Stoytchev also addressed the many journalists in attendance at Plaza Hotel: “I am very sorry that I can’t speak Turkish but my first impressions of Ankara and Halkbank are very positive” he said. “They have started here with a very ambitious project under the umbrella of Halkbank, one of the most decorated Volleyball teams in this country. Our preparations have gone well so far even though we evidently had to start everything from scratch. However, as we have the right players and we want to work hard, results shall follow. Our goal is to fight for the best result in all competitions we are set to enter, including the 2014 CEV Volleyball Champions League. Though Halkbank is participating in Europe’s elite club competition for the very first time, my players all have got much experience and this will help us. The same applies to me and our intention is to beat even the strongest teams in Europe. The first game with JASTRZEBSKI will be extremely important. We play here in Ankara and if we catch a good start, this will bring us immediately to the next level. We also need to get more attention from the media and to involve the fans of Halkbank for their support is extremely important. As I decided to come here, money was not the only reason. There is a very ambitious project and I will be working with some of the best players in the world. After signing these guys, Halkbank got a different spot on the Volleyball map and is now well-known among Volleyball fans in Italy, Bulgaria, and Poland”.
“I am very happy to be here in Ankara and can’t wait for our first game coming up in about one week” said Matey Kaziyski. “Everybody wants to play and to win. It won’t be that easy at the beginning because all players have been together for only one week as many were busy with the final round of the European Championship in Denmark and Poland. However, I am sure that each one of us will be doing his best to create the right chemistry in a very short time. We want to start the season well by winning the Supercup, so that we can immediately show the quality of this group”.
“Our team includes some of the best players in the world. We will start the season with the Supercup and I believe that we can make the final four of the CEV Volleyball Champions League” stated Emre Batur.
