In the opening matches of the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi playoffs semifinals, Eczacıbaşı Dynavit took a significant lead in their series against VakıfBank with a 3-1 victory, while Fenerbahçe Opet overpowered Türk Hava Yolları in a clean 3-0 sweep.
The clash between Eczacıbaşı Dynavit and VakıfBank saw a dominant performance from Eczacıbaşı, opening the match with a resounding 25-11 win in the first set. Despite a closely contested second set, the guest team, VakıfBank, managed to secure a 25-21 win. However, Eczacıbaşı Dynavit, spurred by effective serves from Hande Baladın and standout performances by Irina Voronkova, regained control to win the third and fourth sets, 25-21 and 25-15 respectively. The match concluded 3-1 in favor of Eczacıbaşı Dynavit, marking a important win in the playoffs. Tijana Boskovic emerged as the top scorer of the match, contributing significantly to the victory with 21 points.
On the other side, Fenerbahçe Opet showcased their strength against Türk Hava Yolları, dominating all three sets with scores of 25-18, 25-20, and 25-16, to secure their match 3-0 without much resistance.
The playoffs continue with the second matchups set to intensify the competition. Eczacıbaşı Dynavit will face VakıfBank again on April 4th at the VakıfBank Sports Palace, and Fenerbahçe Opet will face off Türk Hava Yolları. The series follows best of three format.
