Ziraat Bankkart etched their name into the history books once again, defeating Galatasaray HDI Sigorta in straight sets (3-0) in the third match of the SMS Grup Efeler Ligi Finals, held at the TVF Ziraat Bankkart Volleyball Hall. With this result, the red-and-whites completed a 3-0 series sweep, capturing their fourth Turkish Efeler Ligi title.
More significantly, Ziraat Bankkart became the first Turkish volleyball club to win both the domestic league and a European competition in the same season, following their earlier triumph in the CEV Cup.
The championship ceremony saw Ziraat setter Murat Yenipazar honored as Final MVP. Matt Anderson led the match with 23 points, while Trevor Clevenot added 14 for the winners. On the Galatasaray side, Victor Birigui was the most effective with 12 points, followed closely by Jean Patry with 11 points, while Ivan Zaytsev contributed a modest 6 points.
Speaking after the match, Ziraat Bankkart General Manager Alpaslan Çakar praised the team’s season-long effort:
