The Vodafone Sultanlar League’s 8th round began with two wins from title favorites VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe Medicana, both maintaining their unbeaten streaks as the league action continues tomorrow.
Defending champions VakıfBank overpowered Göztepe 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-14) at the VakıfBank Sports Palace, extending their winning run to eight straight matches. Tijana Boskovic once again led the way with 22 points, supported by captain Zehra Güneş and Katarina Dangubic. With this result, VakıfBank has now won 19 consecutive league games, dropping only two sets all season.
At the Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall, Fenerbahçe Medicana defeated Kuzeyboru with another clean 3-0 sweep (25-22, 25-21, 25-14). Arina Fedorovtseva starred with 24 points, while Melissa Vargas added 14.
With these results, both VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe stand unbeaten at 8-0, sharing the top of the league table.
