TUR W: VakıfBank Cruises Past Aras Kargo

League leaders VakıfBank continued their strong form in the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi with a 3–0 victory over Aras Kargo in the opening match of the 25th round. Playing at VakıfBank Spor Sarayı, the home side secured its 24th win of the season with set scores of 25–21, 25–20, 25–22.

Marina Markova led VakıfBank’s scoring with 18 points, while Derya Cebecioğlu added 12. Deniz Uyanık contributed 11 points, including seven blocks, and Berka Buse Özden finished with 10. For Aras Kargo, Ana Karina Olaya scored 16 points, followed by Martha Evdokia Anthouli with 14 and Ann Kalandadze with 11.

The first set stayed close until 20–20, when VakıfBank took control with strong defense and blocking to win 25–21. The hosts carried the momentum into the second set, where Markova helped guide the team to a 25–20 win. VakıfBank completed the sweep with a 25–22 victory in the third set, finishing the match with 14 blocks.

The win extends VakıfBank’s winning streak to 12 matches in official competitions, including nine straight victories in the Sultanlar Ligi. VakıfBank will next face Vero Voley Milano in Italy on March 10 in the first leg of the CEV Champions League quarterfinals.
