VakıfBank moved within one win of the Vodafone Sultanlar League title after defeating Fenerbahçe 3-1 in the third match of the play-off final series.
Fenerbahçe made the brighter start, taking the opening set 25-19. VakıfBank quickly responded, leveling the match with a 25-19 second-set win before taking control in the third set, 25-18. The fourth set was closely fought, but the home side held on to seal it 25-23 and secure the victory.
Marina Markova led VakıfBank with 29 points, while Tijana Bošković contributed 21. Head coach Giovanni Guidetti said his team must stay focused despite the advantage.
The fourth match will be played on April 16, with Fenerbahçe hosting at Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall. VakıfBank will clinch the title with a win.
