Neslihan Demir Darnel
The Turkish Olympic Committee has given the prestigious appointment to the volleyball player Neslihan Demir Darnel.
Among the reasons for her choice was the greater number of women over men in the number of Turkish athletes that will go to the Games and the ability of the left-handed opposite to combine the roles as a professional athlete and as a mother.
Two bearers were selected from the world of beach volleyball: Martins Plavins will represent Latvia, Natacha Rigobert the island of Mauritius.
