Halkbank vs. Budva
Halkbank defeated Montenegrin title holders Budvanska Rivijera Budva in the final round of Pool D and qualified as one of the six best second-placed teams 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-16).
Due to the fact that they lost all chances to qualify to the next round and they have major financial problems, Budva showed no proper resistance to Turkish giants.
The Dutch Dick Kooy and Frenchman Kévin Le Roux were the best scorers in winning team with 14 points each. Luka Babić had 10 in Budva.
Another team that secured Playoffs 12 spot in the final round was the French Tours VB, in Pool C. They beat Greek hosts, PAOK Thessaloniki 3-1 (25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 25-16).
The Czech Adam Bartoš was most deserving for victory of Tours (17 points). The Cuban Rolando Cepeda had 18 points in PAOK for which newly signed American duo, David Lee and Jayson Jablonsky, didn’t make their debut.
