Fenerbahçe vs. Chemik
In the second leg, ’Fener’ apsolutely did not give a chance to the team who is toying with opponents in Poland, 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-14).
On paper, it supposed to be derby of the Playoffs 12 because both teams are reigning champions in their countries and have almost perfect record in ongoing national leagues, but Turkish title holders set serious candidacy to lift the trophy intended for the best team in the Champions League.
Just like in first leg in Poland, Serbian–Korean duo Brankica Mihajlović and Kim Yeon-Koung was the most deserving for Fenerbahçe’s win. This time, Serbian player was more efficient (16 points) than Korean (15 points, 4 aces). In Chemik, Colombian Madelaynne Montaño had 12 points.
In Playoff 6, Fenerbahçe will face the winners of a clash Dresdner SC (GER) – Dinamo Moscow (RUS). The Russian team prevailed in first leg by 3-1.
