Vakıfbank continued nine-game winning streak in all competitions (six-game streak in Turkey) by beating home team of Çanakkale Belediyesi 3-0 (25-12, 25-22, 25-8) in advanced game of 21st round of the Turkish championship.

The two teams were awaiting this match in completely different situation. For ‘Vakif’ it was a must-win game, while for the hosts, it was simply a preparation for playoffs since they secured it with yesterday’s defeat of Halkbank.

Interestingly, Vakıfbank and Çanakkale might clash in the quarterfinals of playoffs in case Vakif manage to keep top spot in the standings which they claimed with this win.

The coach of Vakif, Giovanni Gudetti, left the Dutch Robin de Kruijf and Brazilian Sheilla Castro on bench for entire game. So, Anne Buijs was the best scorer with 14 points. The Croatian Ana Starčević scored 12 for losing team.
