Trabzonspor
Volleyball branch of Sport Club Trabzonspor (mostly known by its football club, a six-time Turkish champion) was established in 2013 but lasted only three years.
Due to lack of finances, Trabzonspor’s vice president announced shut down of a volleyball branch after it had the most successful season so far. They were on the verge to qualify to the Turkish top division for the next season. They advanced into top eight teams in Division 2 (two final pools of four are being formed after regular season which also consists of two pools but with 14 and 13 teams). Sadly to their fans, they finished fourth in their final pool (two best teams from each pool went to Final Four) mostly because of the financial crises which already started to shake them at that point.
