HalkBank
The reigning champions Halkbank have managed to beat Galatasaray after playing five-set thriller at the home court 3-2 (23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 17-25, 15-13).
It was a great game, especially the tie-break. The Serbian bomber Ivan Miljkovic and Dutch player Dick Kooy led the team from Ankara to the first win in the new season, scoring 18 points each.
The Polish star Zbigniew Bartman had 24 on the other side.
Antonin Rouzier, former member of French national volleyball team, had a good season opening in a jersey of Istanbul BBSK. He scored 19 as his team beat Besiktas in straight sets. Milos Nikic was the best scorer in Besiktas.
