VakifBank were clear favorites in this match, however they did not have an easy job. Galatasaray girls made a strong resistance to the reigning champions and who knows what would have happened if the home side had won the opening set.
However, VakifBank won that 1st set by 29:27 and seized the full control over the game. Later on, the girls coached by Giovanni Guidetti won the following two sets and finished the match with a straight-sets win.
The top scorer in VakifBank was Lonneke Sloetjes with 14 points, while Nadia Centoni made 11 points for Galatasaray.
