TUR W: Victories for Eczacibasi and Fenerbahce, HalkBank missed chance of the season!

Both Eczacibasi VitrA and Fenerbahce Istanbul seized the lead in their quarter-final series.

Well, this was one very exciting day in the Turkish Championship Playoffs. Eczacibasi VitrA defeated Canakkale on the road in Game 1 of the Quarter-Finals, but only after making a small comeback. The Orange crew lost the opening set by 26:24, while then Tijana Bošković woke up and led her team toward winning the three following sets.

Serbian opposite scored 29 points for Eczacibasi in this game. It is also important to mention that Eczacibasi was without Thaisa Daher and Tatiana Kosheleva today.

The game between HalkBank and Fenerbahce has definitely been the most interesting one so far in the Playoffs. Halkbank were up by 2-1 in sets, while the hosts also had the lead of 18:12 in the 4th set… They had two match points as well at 24:22… But, HalkBank missed their chance.

Fenerbahce managed to take the 4th set by 27:25 and then to win the match in the tie-break by 15:6. Natalia Zilio Pereira was the top scorer in the winning team with 27 points.
