Ziraat
In a duel of the clubs based in Turkish capital Ankara, No.3 Ziraat rejected efforts of a second seed Halkbank to fully recover after being two sets down, 3-2 (25-20, 25-21, 18-25, 23-25, 15-12). Thus, Ziraat took 1-0 lead in series, returning home with a lot of self-confidence before second game (April 17).
Both teams had four double-digit players of which two stood out – Baturalp Burak Güngör in Ziraat with 18 points and Serban opposite Ivan Miljković in Halkbank with 20 points.
Recall that Arkas Spor upset top seed Fenerbahçe in Game 1 of other semifinal encounter.
