Beating Lindemans Aalst in the 2018 CEV Cup, a few days ago, was a sign that Ziraat Bankası are getting out of the crisis and it was confirmed with the away win against Beşiktaş in Round 20 of the Efeler Ligi, 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-18). The domination of Ziraat reflects the most in the fact they prevailed without having double-digit players on their roster. The Pole Dawid Konarski and Vahit Emre Savaş scored 9 points apiece for Ziraat with both making 100% attack (6/6). The libero of the winning side Volkan Döne made 89% reception (9 digs; 67% perfect reception). Bartosz Kurek made his debut in Ziraat’s lineup in 2018.  The Polish star has fully recovered from the foot injury and already played his first match this year, two days ago, against Lindemans in the CEV Cup. Today he played in first and the second set and scored 2 points (80% reception; 5 digs). Batuhan Avci topped Beşiktaş with 11 points.

Halkbank were in trouble against Galatasaray, trailing 1-0 and 2-1, before breaking the resistance of the rivals in the tie-break and recording the 16th straight win in the national championship. Halkbank coach Slobodan Kovač tried some new ideas by leaving Burutay Subaşı and Cuban Raydel Hierrezuelo out of the lineup. In addition, the Serbian coach could not count on Cuban opposite Fernando Hernández. The Brazilian Lucas Lóh topped Halkbank with 13 points. Faik Samet Güneş served 3 aces, while Emre Batur added 4 kill blocks. Ufuk Minici scored 17 points for Galatasaray. Emin Gök made 5 kill blocks.

Fenerbahçe and Arkas Spor scored a 3-0 win each to remain the second-placed and fourth-placed, respectively, in the standings.
