Unlike the game against China, Thailand gave much stronger resistance to the U.S. team. Especially in the second and third set.
USA had three-point lead in the second set (22-19) but Thai girls refused to surrender and they managed to tie 23:23. After a few minutes of volleyball fight, Christa Harmotto scored an ace to finish the second set, 29-27.
Even in the third set Thai girls fought hard but it was not enough to stop powerful USA team.
Four players had double digits in USA: Lowe 16, Larson-Burbach 13, Harmotto 12, Adams 11. In Thailand, Pleumjit Thinkaow had 13, while Wilavan Apinyapong added 11.
