CL W: Third consecutive win for Azeri rookie Lokomotiv BAKU

Muszyna-Baku

Muszyna – Baku

Lokomotiv opened by scoring the first four points of the match and even though MUSZYNA briefly went up 6:4, the first section of the game was comfortably controlled by the team from Azerbaijan.

MUSZYNA got back on track in set 2 with the head coach of Lokomotiv, Giuseppe Cuccarini, who was forced to ask for an early time-out; Bank BPS Fakro went up 8:3 and then scored five points in a row to pave the way for the final, massive 25-11.

The third set was initially very close and even though Lokomotiv regularly set the pace by a slim margin, MUSZYNA did not surrender that easily before BAKU wrapped it up at 25-17 with a good final rush.

The hosts looked lost at the beginning of the fourth set with Lokomotiv quickly going up 5:0. The guests from Azerbaijan gradually widened the gap (15:6) with another 4:0 run and could finish it off at 25-15 for their third consecutive win in the competition.
