The past few months have been life-changing for Belgian volleyball star Sam Deroo. After successfully overcoming cancer and returning to the court, Sam Deroo now celebrating the arrival of his daughter, Mia.
Deroo and his partner, former Bulgarian national team member Dobriana Rabadzhieva, shared the joyful news on social media, revealing that their daughter was born on June 5.
The birth comes after an emotional period for the Belgian outside hitter. In late 2025, Deroo announced that he had been diagnosed with testicular cancer, forcing him to put his volleyball career on hold while undergoing treatment. He later completed his recovery and made an inspiring return to professional volleyball.
