In a surprising start to the 12th round of the Vodafone Sultanlar Ligi, Galatasaray Daikin stunned league leaders Eczacıbaşı Dynavit with a 3-1 victory (25-22, 11-25, 25-14, 25-19).
Eczacıbaşı relied heavily on Tijana Boskovic, who delivered 28 points with a 61% attack efficiency, but no other player reached double digits. Outside hitter Hande Baladın struggled, scoring just seven points at a 29% efficiency and faltering in reception with a 33% positivity rate.
Galatasaray capitalized on Eczacıbaşı’s weaknesses with strong serves and efficient attacks. Alexia Căruțașu led with 20 points, supported by Katarina Lazovic (15) and Ilkin Aydın (14).
The defeat puts Eczacıbaşı’s top spot at risk, with challengers VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe close behind. Galatasaray solidifies its fourth position with nine wins and 29 points.
