Il Bisonte Firenze named Alessandro Orefice as new head coach, with the Italian signing a two-year contract that includes an option for a third season.

Orefice arrives in Florence after four seasons with Levallois Paris Saint-Cloud in France, where he captured two Ligue A titles and coached in European competitions, including the Champions League. The 41-year-old also serves as head coach of Slovenia’s women’s national team.
The appointment marks Orefice’s return to Italian volleyball after ten years abroad and his first experience as a Serie A1 head coach.
Orefice said he is excited by the opportunity to lead the Florence-based side and help the club continue its growth.
“This is an important challenge for me and a project with strong ambition,” he said. “We want to create the right mentality, play quality volleyball, and compete at a higher level.”
Orefice will join the team following his summer commitments with Slovenia’s national squad.
