VakıfBank bolstered their squad for the new season with the signings of Czech opposite Monika Brancuska and Serbian outside hitter Vanja Ivanovic.
Brancuska, 22, arrives after a successful spell with VfB Suhl LOTTO Thüringen. The Czech opposite helped her team win the German league and cup in the 2025/26 season while also finishing as the league’s leading scorer. She previously played for PVK Olymp Praha and has won three Czech Cups and a Czech Super Cup.
The young opposite said she was excited about the move and described playing for a club with VakıfBank’s history and ambitions as an honour.
Ivanovic Strengthens VakıfBank Attack
VakıfBank have also secured the services of 22-year-old Serbian international Ivanovic, who joins following a season with Russian club Korabelka. Ivanovic previously represented ZOK Leskovac 98 and OK Zeleznicar. She enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign in Serbia, winning the domestic league title and being named the competition’s Most Valuable Player. Her honours also include the Serbian Cup and Super Cup, while she won bronze with Serbia at the 2022 Mediterranean Games.
Ivanovic said joining the Turkish giants was a dream come true and underlined her desire to compete for major honours.
“I’m here to win trophies and championships,” she said.
