PGE Projekt Warszawa confirmed the signing of Italian opposite Yuri Romanò, securing one of the most high-profile transfers in Polish volleyball ahead of the new season.

The 29-year-old opposite, a two-time world champion with Italy and the best opposite at the most recent World Championship, will join the Warsaw club after the 2026 European Championship.
For Romanò, the move represents a new chapter after competing at the top level in Italy.
“Joining PGE Projekt Warszawa is a great challenge for me and an important step in my career,” Romanò said in the club’s announcement. “I’m here to fight for the highest goals.”
Romanò will link up with his new teammates once his international duties at the 2026 European Championship are complete. His signing adds considerable firepower to a Warsaw side with major ambitions in Poland and European competition.
