Fenerbahçe Medicana confirmed the return of Stefano Lavarini as head coach of their women’s volleyball team ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Italian coach is set for a second spell with the Istanbul club after previously taking charge during the 2023/24 campaign. His first season with Fenerbahçe delivered domestic success, with the team winning both the Turkish league championship and Turkish Cup. Fenerbahçe also reached the semifinals of the CEV Champions League under Lavarini.
Lavarini has worked with several leading European clubs during his career, including Bergamo, Busto Arsizio, Novara and Vero Volley Milano. He also coached Brazilian club Minas before moving into prominent national-team roles.
After leading South Korea between 2019 and 2021, Lavarini took charge of Poland’s women’s national team in 2022. Poland went on to claim Volleyball Nations League bronze medals in 2023, 2024 and 2025, while also qualifying for the Olympics after a 16-year absence.
